In Loving Memory of Ronald Harry Farris

July 7, 1933 – May 2, 2025

Ronald "Ron" Harry Farris, beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather, entered eternal rest on May 2, 2025, in Cathedral City, California, at the age of 91. Born on July 7, 1933, in Hawthorne, California, Ron lived a life marked by dedication, integrity, and unwavering faith.

Ron graduated from Belmont Highschool in 1951, where his natural abilities and passion for baseball landed him a professional "All League Center-Field" position with the Modesto Reds. While playing, Ron was drafted into the US Army in early 1953, where he proudly served his country as an Operations and Intelligence Specialist during the Korean War, until he was honorably discharged from duty in early 1955. After his military service, Ron resumed playing professional baseball, where he played for the Milwaukee Braves, until an injury ended his baseball career. He often shared these memories with a gleam in his eye. In late 1955, Ron was introduced to the love of his life, Tommie Rose, from Columbia, Tennessee. Their connection was instant and in 1956, they were married. Their marriage reflected their shared faith in Jesus Christ, and they remained devoted partners in life and in the Lord for many years.

Later, Ron found success in the financial world building a distinguished career in banking and business operations. He started working at Security Pacific National Bank where he held several key roles within a 30-year span. He started by counting coin in the vault, quickly moving on to a teller position. Soon thereafter, Ron was promoted to a Manager/Operations Officer position, which paved the way for his success in becoming Vice President in Middle Market Commercial Loans overseeing many branch locations. During his tenure with the bank, he graduated from Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington in Seattle. While balancing a demanding professional life with personal goals, Ron and his wife, Tommie, founded Diamond Bar Travel in the early 1970's, which provided security, fun-filled blessings, and lifelong memories for their family. They also attended Faith Community Church in West Covina for 20 years, where they loved serving all areas in ministry.

After Ron retired in 1988, he set his sights on Christian ministry and spent the remaining years of his life centered in Eschatology, as it pertains to the "End Times" and related Prophecies. He was especially inspired by the biblical teachings of his mentor, Finis Dake, and held a deep admiration for the ministry and music of Jimmy Swaggart. Ron's life was a testament of quiet strength, kindness, and steadfast trust in Jesus, his personal Lord and

Savior. His faith was not only a comfort but a gift he freely shared, leaving behind a legacy of grace, courage and love in the lives he touched.

Above all, Ron's greatest devotion was to his faith and his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Viola Farris and two brothers Carroll and Ray Farris. He is survived by his wife, Tommie Rose Farris of 69 years, his sisters Barbara Pena (Sam) and Martha Cheney (Eric). His surviving children are Michael Farris (Renee), Lisa Farris, Suzanne Farris, and Lori Matthews (Wade) along with 14 grand-children Jamie Hanson (Shane), Ron Dunlap (Evelyn), Jeffrey Vaughn, Jacob Vaughn, Jade Kinsley (Michael), Talia Tuton (Patrick), Michael Matthews (Lindy), Wade Matthews II (Allissa) and 11 great-grandchildren. His family was the joy of his life, and his wisdom, warmth, and humor will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

A memorial service honoring Ron's life and military service will be held at Riverside National Cemetery in Riverside, California on Friday, June 6th, 2025, beginning at 12:15pm. The cemetery is located at 22495 Van Buren Blvd., Riverside, California 92518. All who knew and loved Ron are welcome to attend.
