Maria Isabel Herrera Granillo

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our Mother

Maria Isabel Herrera Granillo of Coachella, Ca. She passed away on November

25, 2024 in Rancho Cucamonga surrounded by her family and friends. Maria

was born November 19, 1937 in Sandias, Tepehuanes Durango Mexico. In 1955

She married Jose Elias Granillo in Durango Mexico.

Maria came to California in the early 1960's after divorcing she made her home

In Coachella, Ca. where her main focus was caring and raising her children.

She was a homemaker and especially enjoyed cooking, knitting and was a great seamstress.

She was also a devoted Catholic and religion was an important part of her life.

Her door was always open to the many friends and the friends that her children brought home.

Later she worked in agriculture around the Coachella Valley and then started working at

various packing houses Cardinal Packing, Desert Date and a Medical Supply company.

After her retirement, you could find her in her garden everyday tending to her plants and spending time with her family.

Maria is survived by her Children Eva Lua (Pablo) of Thermal, Jose Granillo (Sandra) of

Coachella, Olga Elena Granillo of Rancho Cucamonga, Alberto Martinez-Granillo (Livier Martinez) of Duarte and Helen Granillo of Hollywood. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. She is also survived by 2 brothers Eliodoro Herrera of Mexico City and Marcos Herrera of Chicago and 1 sister Ernestina Herrera of Mexico City. She was preceded in death by her parents Seferino and Guadalupe Herrera of Durango Mexico, sisters Virginia Herrera Lara of Durango, Mexico and Rosabel Herrera Lara of Mexico City.
