Joe O. Hernandez, 92, entered into rest on April 19, 2026. He was born in Indio, California on November 3, 1933, to Narcario and Juana O. Hernandez. On May 16, 1958, he married the love of his life, Rachel R. Hernandez.

Joe is survived by his daughters, Norma Carpio and Elaine Hernandez (Theodore Elliott).and his brother Nasario Hernandez.

He was a proud Tata to Devon, Shelby, Cheyenne, Bryce (Jared), Nadine (Albert), Ruby (Gilbert), Anna Marie, and Johnny.

He was a loving Great-Grandfather to JJ, Jayce, Aleena (Saul), Alexyah (Jose), Ryan, Dominick, Eva, and Lana, and a Great-Great-Grandfather to Mia, Skyla, and Elanor. He also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, each of whom filled his heart with pride and joy.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Narcario and Juana, his beloved wife Rachel and his beloved son Mark Hernandez.

Services

May 14th – Visitation from 5:00–6:30pm, followed by Rosary and Eulogy from 6:30–9:00pm at Casillas Family Funeral Home in Coachella.

May 15th – Mass at 10:15am at Our Lady of Soledad in Coachella, CA, with graveside services to follow.
